TO PROVIDE THAT MONUMENTS OR MEMORIALS ERECTED OR CONSTRUCTED HONORING PUBLIC SAFETY OR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS BETWEEN JANUARY 1, 1993, AND DECEMBER 31, 1993, SHALL BE EXEMPT FROM SALES TAXES IMPOSED PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 36 OF TITLE 12 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, for the period of January 1, 1993, to December 31, 1993, monuments or memorials erected or constructed honoring public safety or law enforcement officers shall be exempt from sales taxes imposed pursuant to Chapter 36 of Title 12 of the 1976 Code.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
