AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 27-18-20, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS UNDER THE UNIFORM UNCLAIMED PROPERTY ACT, SO AS TO CHANGE THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE ACT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AND TAXATION TO THE STATE TREASURER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

"Administrator" redefined

SECTION 1. Section 27-18-20(1) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Section 487 of Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:

"(1) `Administrator' means the State Treasurer, his agents, or representatives."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect July 1, 1996.
