AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 6-11-91, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR THE GOVERNING BODY OF A SPECIAL PURPOSE DISTRICT OR PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES ACTUALLY INCURRED SUBJECT TO THE LIMITS IMPOSED FOR MEMBERS OF STATE BOARDS, COMMITTEES, AND COMMISSIONS, AND TO ALLOW THE DISTRICT TO SET THE AMOUNT OF PER DIEM.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Compensation, benefits
SECTION 1. Section 6-11-91 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 6-11-91. The governing body of a public service district or special purpose district by resolution or ordinance may fix or change the compensation or other benefits, including insurance benefits and per diem for the members of the district governing body. Reimbursable expenses actually incurred while on official business may not exceed the amounts authorized for members of state boards, committees, and commissions, and insurance benefits shall not exceed those provided for state employees."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
