TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 8-15-70 SO AS TO AUTHORIZE ANY EMPLOYEE OF THE STATE TO APPLY FOR A VACANCY IN A CLASSIFIED POSITION FOR WHICH THEY ARE QUALIFIED AND RECEIVE THE SALARY ADVERTISED FOR THE POSITION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 8-15-70. Any classified employee of this State may apply for a vacancy in another classified position in which there is a vacancy if they are otherwise qualified for that position. If they are selected to fill the position, the person must be paid the salary which was advertised for the position."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
