A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF REECE YON OF ANDERSON COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Reece Yon of Anderson County has died at the age of eighty-eight; and

Whereas, Mr. Yon was the founder and owner of Yon's Food Store in downtown Anderson; he opened the grocery store fifty-five years ago on the corner of Daniel and Main Streets; over the years, the store became known for its fresh meats and excellent produce from nearby farms and was considered an Anderson landmark; and

Whereas, Reece Yon was an outstanding individual who was admired and loved by all who knew him; he made a lasting mark on Anderson and will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Reece Yon of Anderson County and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Yon's family.
