TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 41-16-75 SO AS TO PROHIBIT A SPECIAL INSPECTOR FROM PERFORMING ELEVATOR INSPECTIONS ON AN ELEVATOR ON WHICH HE OR HIS EMPLOYER HAS A CURRENT SERVICE OR WARRANTY CONTRACT.
Amend Title To Conform
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 41-16-75. It is unlawful for a special inspector to perform elevator inspection under the provisions of this chapter or any regulations promulgated pursuant to it on an elevator on which he or his employer has a current service or warranty contract. A violation of this section is grounds for revocation of a special inspector's license by the department."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
