TO EXPRESS GRATITUDE TO THE REVEREND JOSEPH W. ALLEY FOR HIS MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO RICHLAND COUNTY AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THE OCCASION OF THE DESIGNATION OF REVEREND JOSEPH W. ALLEY DAY BY THE RICHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.
Whereas, for over ten years, Reverend Joe Alley has served College Place United Methodist Church and the Eau Claire Community as their pastor; and
Whereas, Reverend Alley was instrumental in the formation of the Eau Claire Rotary Club; and
Whereas, Reverend Alley spearheaded the Community Thanksgiving Service and East Community Clean-up Campaign; and
Whereas, Reverend Alley contributed significantly to the Eau Claire Community Taskforce formation and report; and
Whereas, Reverend Alley has generously given of his time and talents to the youth of Eau Claire including such activities as an after school program initially offered at College Place United Methodist Church; and
Whereas Reverend Alley has sought to focus the attention of Richland County Council on the needs and opportunities of the Eau Claire Community; and
Whereas Richland County Council issued a proclamation recognizing Reverend Alley by declaring June 4, 1995 as Reverend Joseph W. Alley Day. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate express their gratitude and congratulate Reverend Joseph W. Alley for the many contributions he has made to the residents of Richland County and congratulate him on the honor bestowed upon him by Richland County Council in designating June 4, 1995 as Reverend Joseph W. Alley Day.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Reverend Joseph W. Alley.
