EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF MRS. SALLY S. BIGGER OF AIKEN COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, Mrs. Sally S. Bigger, a longtime community leader and advocate for education died February 21, 1998; and
Whereas, Mrs. Bigger, a native of St. Louis, was known for her dedication to public service and devotion to her family; and
Whereas, she was a former chairwoman of the Aiken County Board of Education, Executive Director of the Aiken County Cities in Schools, and served on the Aiken Technical College Foundation; and
Whereas, Mrs. Bigger was a former chairwoman of the North Augusta Chamber of Commerce; she served on the Board of Directors for the Nancy Carson Library and was a board member of Community Ministries of North Augusta; and
Whereas, she was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of Leadership Aiken County, North Augusta Woman's Club, the Hill and Dale Garden Club, and the Exchange Club of North Augusta; and
Whereas, Mrs. Bigger was an exceptional leader and an outstanding individual who was respected, admired, and loved by all who knew her and her presence will be greatly missed; and
Whereas, we want her family and many friends to know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Mrs. Sally S. Bigger of Aiken County and extend sympathy to her family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the husband of Sally M. Bigger, Mr. John Bigger.
