TO DISAPPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, RELATING TO NONINDIGENOUS SHRIMP, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2229, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Department of Natural Resources, relating to nonindigenous shrimp, designated as Regulation Document Number 2229, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are disapproved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

The proposed regulation would outline permit provisions which the Department of Natural Resources could utilize to control the importation and possession of nonindigenous shrimp for mariculture and other purposes. Permits could be conditioned to require and contain: a properly completed permit application form; permit reporting requirements; shrimp stock importation requirements; pond culture requirements; permit coordination requirements; inspection requirements and agreements; permit transfer provisions; permit amendment provisions; permit administration provisions; special terms and conditions provisions; and a listing of Department of Natural Resources approved facilities for shrimp disease diagnostic testing.
