TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO CHARTER SCHOOLS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2164, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to charter schools, designated as Regulation Document Number 2164, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

The South Carolina Charter Schools Act of 1996 (1996 Act #447) requires the State Board of Education to review decisions of local school boards of trustees concerning charter schools. This proposed regulation establishes the procedure to be used by the State Board of Education when it reviews these decisions either on appeal or its own motion.
