CONGRATULATING THE SOFTBALL TEAM OF WARDLAW ACADEMY OF EDGEFIELD COUNTY ON WINNING THE SCISAA CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1997.

Whereas, the Softball Team of Wardlaw Academy of Edgefield County has won the SCISAA Class A State Championship for 1997; and

Whereas, the Wardlaw girls defeated the girls of Lord Berkeley Academy 4-1 to win the crown; and

Whereas, the Wardlaw softball team was coached by Ed Asbill and Kim Cromer; and

Whereas, the team members' hard work, talent, unity, and determination all combined to make them state champs in softball in 1997; and

Whereas, we are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize them. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the softball team of Wardlaw Academy of Edgefield County on winning the SCISAA Class A State Championship for 1997.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the team and coaches.
