A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SORROW AT THE DEATH OF MR. WALTER NELSON OF LYNCHBURG AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mr. Walter Nelson of Lynchburg died May 22, 1997 at the age of seventy; and

Whereas, Mr. Nelson received his education at Mathis School in Lynchburg; he enlisted in the United States Army in 1945 and left the military with an honorable discharge after having served his country; and

Whereas, he was a devoted member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lynchburg and was known affectionately by many persons as "Duka"; and

Whereas, he was a dedicated family man and was committed to the betterment of the community; he was respected, admired, and loved by all who knew him and will be missed very much. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Mr. Walter Nelson of Lynchburg and extends sympathy to his family and friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Nelson's family.
