TO COMMEND MRS. BETTY BAIRD OF BATESBURG FOR HER MANY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AS LEXINGTON COUNTY EXTENSION AGENT WITH CLEMSON EXTENSION SERVICE UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned with regret that Mrs. Betty Baird of Batesburg will be retiring as Lexington County Extension Agent with the Clemson Extension Service this year; and
Whereas, Mrs. Baird began her employment with the Clemson Extension Service in 1970 after serving three years with the Georgia Extension Service and during her career has received numerous awards in recognition of her outstanding service. These awards include the South Carolina Association Extension Home Economist, Distinguished Service Award; Clemson University's Meritorious Award Outstanding County Programs; and the Epsilon Sigma Phi Meritorious Service Award; and
Whereas, she holds a B. S. degree from the University of Georgia, a masters degree from the University of South Carolina, is married to Ralph "Bubby" Baird, and is the mother of two grown children; and
Whereas, she coordinated and advised many important program areas during her employment as Lexington County Extension Agent including programs for family resource management, alternative housing, solid waste management, and community development; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this truly lovely lady upon her retirement from the Clemson Extension Service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby commend Mrs. Betty Baird of Batesburg for her many years of distinguished service as Lexington County Extension Agent with Clemson Extension Service upon the occasion of her retirement.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
Mrs. Betty Baird.
