A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR MR. ARTHUR L. "ART" JONES WHO HAS BEEN A TRUSTED ADVISOR TO POLITICAL, BUSINESS, AND CIVIC LEADERS IN AIKEN COUNTY FOR MANY DECADES ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS TREASURER OF THE AIKEN COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

Whereas, Mr. Arthur L. Jones has served the citizens of Aiken County through his service as Treasurer of the Aiken County Democratic Party since 1978; and

Whereas, Mr. Jones has long been a trusted advisor to political, business, and civic leaders in Aiken County for many decades; and

Whereas, Mr. Jones has been a staunch and active Democrat and because of his business expertise, the Aiken County Democratic Party is financially strong; and

Whereas, Mr. Jones is an avid gardener and has headed up the Adopt-A-Highway portion sponsored by the Aiken County Democratic Party and has done much of the clean-up work himself; and

Whereas, Mr. Jones has been an active and dedicated member of his church and showed great compassion and love caring for his wife during her lengthy illness. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That, the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, extends its best wishes upon the occasion of his retirement as Treasurer of the Aiken County Democratic Party.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Arthur L. Jones.
