AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-260, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN FLORENCE COUNTY, SO AS TO REDESIGNATE THESE PRECINCTS AND DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THE LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE FLORENCE COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION ESTABLISH POLLING PLACES FOR THESE PRECINCTS; AND TO REPEAL SECTION 7-7-265 RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PLACES IN FLORENCE COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precincts redesignated

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-260 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 7-7-260. (A) In Florence County there are the following voting precincts:

Back Swamp

Brookgreen

Cartersville

Claussen

Coles Crossroads

Coward 1

Coward 2

(B) The precinct lines defining the precincts in subsection (A) are as shown on the official map designated P-4199 and on file with the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board and as shown on certified copies provided to the State Election Commission and the Board of Voter Registration of the county by the Division of Research and Statistical Services.

(C) The polling places for the precincts provided for in subsection (A) must be established by the Florence County Election Commission."

Repeal

SECTION 2. Section 7-7-265 of the 1976 Code is repealed.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 26th day of May, 1999.

Became law without the signature of the Governor -- 6/2/99.
