TO PROVIDE THAT UP TO SIX SCHOOL DAYS MISSED IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY, 2000, BY THE STUDENTS OR TEACHERS, OR BOTH, OF ANY SCHOOL OF THE CHESTERFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT DURING SCHOOL YEAR 1999-2000 WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO CONDITIONS CAUSED BY ICE, SNOW, AND RESULTING HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Up to six school days in January and February, 2000, missed by students or teachers, or both, of any school of the Chesterfield County School District during school year 1999-2000 when the schools were closed due to conditions caused by ice, snow, and resulting hazardous road conditions are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
