A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-29-205 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL TO PROVIDE ANNUAL FLU SHOTS TO "AT-RISK" STATE EMPLOYEES WHO QUALIFY FOR BENEFITS UNDER THE STATE INSURANCE PLAN AT NO COST TO THE EMPLOYEE, AND TO DEFINE "AT-RISK" FOR PURPOSES OF THIS PROVISION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 44-29-205. The Department of Health and Environmental Control shall provide annual flu shots to at-risk state employees at no cost to the employee who qualify for benefits under the state insurance plan.

For purposes of this section 'at-risk' means employees working in public schools and state medical facilities.

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
