A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

OFFERING THE SINCEREST GRATITUDE OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO MRS. FRANKIE G. PHILLIPS OF LANCASTER COUNTY FOR HER THIRTY-THREE YEARS OF CONSCIENTIOUS SERVICE TO THE STATE AND ITS MOST DELICATE CITIZENRY AS SHE RETIRES FROM THE LANCASTER COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES.

Whereas, Mrs. Frankie G. Phillips of Lancaster County retires June 30, 2000, from the Lancaster County Department of Social Services, where she earned all but thirteen months of her thirty-three years of state service; and

Whereas, her long and conscientious career began as a clerk issuing food stamps; and

Whereas, she steadily advanced through the organization, serving as accounting technician and then as business manager for the county department; and

Whereas, her budgetary duties included supervision of ten employees and provision of adequate clerical support for the county agency; and

Whereas, she also simultaneously served as Regional Business Manager Liaison for a five-county area; and

Whereas, this loving mother of two, grandmother of two, and dedicated organist and assistant choir director of Flat Creek Baptist Church spent a professional lifetime ensuring that all the citizens of Lancaster County and this State have the best chance she could make available to them to know the joy of a happy and secure family. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, do hereby offer their sincerest gratitude to Mrs. Frankie G. Phillips of Lancaster County for her thirty-three years of conscientious service to the State and its most delicate citizenry as she retires from the Lancaster County Department of Social Services.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Frankie G. Phillips.
