CONGRATULATING THE WILSON HALL "BARONS" GOLF TEAM OF SUMTER COUNTY ON BEING CROWNED AS 2000 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (SCISAA) 3A STATE GOLF CO-CHAMPIONS.

Whereas, the Wilson Hall "Barons" Golf Team of Sumter County won a share of the South Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (SCISAA) 3A State Golf Championship recently during the conference state tournament held at the Ocean Point Golf Club on Fripp Island; and

Whereas, the members of the "Barons" state championship team are Joe Pinilla, Ryan Broome, David Martin, Will McLeod, Ryan Chandler, Patrick Townes, Robert Renwick, Derek Williams, Charles Rhodes, Thompson Kinney, and Laughton Jones; and

Whereas, Head Coach, Hugh Hill, and his staff are to be commended for successfully guiding the "Barons" through a tough season that culminated with sharing the state championship with the James G. Byrnes "Trojans", a team that previously defeated Wilson Hall in four of the five Region III tournaments during the season; and

Whereas, Headmaster, Frederick B. Moulton, Wilson Hall Board of Trustees members, Pete Wright-Chairman, Susie Reynolds, Caroline DuRant, Porter Thompkins, Clarke Bynum, Ann Calloway, Linda Crabbe, Ellen Hill, Anthony Hoefer, George C. James, Jr., Joe McElveen, and Burke Watson, Jr., and the faculty, staff, students, parents, and the Sumter Community should take pride in the supporting role each played during this championship season; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to take this opportunity to pause in their deliberations to congratulate the Wilson Hall "Barons" Golf Team for a memorable season. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly hereby congratulate the Wilson Hall "Barons" Golf Team of Sumter County on being crowned as 2000 SCISAA 3A State Golf Co-Champions.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach, Hugh Hill, the players, and coaches of the Wilson Hall "Barons" Golf Team.
