TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE WORKERS' COMPENSATION COMMISSION, RELATING TO SETTLEMENT BY AGREEMENT AND FINAL RELEASE AND RELATING TO REPORTING ATTORNEY'S FEES FOR APPROVAL, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2470, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Workers' Compensation Commission, relating to settlement by agreement and final release and relating to reporting attorney's fees for approval, designated as Regulation Document Number 2470, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The Commission proposes to amend these regulations in order to update, reflect current practice, and further streamline operations. The proposed amendments will facilitate the approval procedure for an Agreement and Final Release to allow another commissioner to sign the Agreement if the assigned commissioner is not available and to facilitate the approval procedure for a Form 61.
