A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY MISSED ON JANUARY 20, 2000, BY STUDENTS OF J. N. KELLETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN OCONEE COUNTY FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1999-2000 WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO A BOILER MALFUNCTION IS EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the school day missed on January 20, 2000, by students of J. N. Kellett Elementary School in Oconee County for school year 1999-2000 when the school was closed due to a boiler malfunction is exempt from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
