A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAY OF FEBRUARY 1, 1999, MISSED BY STUDENTS OF THE SANS SOUCI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN GREENVILLE COUNTY FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1998-99 WHEN THEIR SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO LOSS OF HEAT IN THE BUILDINGS, IS EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the school day of February 1, 1999, missed by students of the Sans Souci Elementary School in Greenville County for school year 1998-99 when their school was closed due to loss of heat in the buildings, is exempt from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
