A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 26 AND 27, 2000, BY THE STUDENTS OF THE EDGEFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR SCHOOL YEAR 1999-2000 WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SNOW AND WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT OF THE DEFINED MINIMUM PLAN THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the school days missed on January 26 and 27, 2000, by the students of the Edgefield County School District for school year 1999-2000 when the schools were closed due to snow and weather conditions are exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
