A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE MEMBERS OF THE WALHALLA RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S STATE CHAMPION AGE FIFTEEN-AND-UNDER SOCCER TEAM FOR THEIR SUCCESS AND STATE TITLE VICTORY.

Whereas, the Walhalla Recreation Department's age fifteen-and-under soccer team was honored in January 2002 by the Walhalla City Council for winning that age group's state soccer championship; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are also pleased to recognize this outstanding group of young people for their wonderful accomplishment at the state championship held in Myrtle Beach; and

Whereas, the team members brought deserved recognition and credit upon themselves and their community, not only for their fine play on the field but for their exemplary conduct off the field as well; and

Whereas, the team members' enthusiasm, talent, skill, dedication, and unity all combined to propel them to the state title, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to accord them this special recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the members of the Walhalla Recreation Department's State Champion age fifteen-and-under soccer team for their success and state title victory.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the team with best wishes for further success.
