TO COMMEND HOLLI LYNN THOMPSON, MISS OCONEE 2001, FOR HER WONDERFUL REPRESENTATION OF OCONEE COUNTY DURING HER REIGN, AND TO EXTEND HER BEST WISHES IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, Holli Lynn Thompson has completed her year-long reign as Miss Oconee 2001; and
Whereas, her reign as Miss Oconee was highlighted by her appearances all over the county and State where she represented the people of Oconee County with true distinction; and
Whereas, she served as captain of a team of pageant contestants in the Relay for Life, raised funds for the Rosa Clark Medical Clinic, and served as a mentor to three young girls who traveled with her as she performed over one thousand hours of community service, showing them the value of volunteerism; and
Whereas, her wonderful accomplishments in all aspects of her life serve as a role model for all young women to follow; and
Whereas, through her passion for children, she has made significant impact on the lives of many young people across the county and State with her church and school programs promoting self-esteem, character education, and creative learning skills; and
Whereas, she is a graduate of Walhalla High School, and is an active and faithful member of College Street Baptist Church in Walhalla where she has also taught Sunday school; and
Whereas, Holli Lynn Thompson is currently a junior at Clemson University majoring in elementary education so that she might continue her positive impact on this state's children; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to congratulate her for all she has done to represent the people of Oconee County as her reign as Miss Oconee 2001 comes to a close. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate commend Holli Lynn Thompson, Miss Oconee 2001, for her wonderful representation of Oconee County during her reign, and extend her best wishes in all her future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Holli Lynn Thompson.
