A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 48-52-650, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE REVOLVING LOAN FUND ESTABLISHED BY THE STATE ENERGY OFFICE, SO AS TO REQUIRE THE OFFICE TO BETTER PUBLICIZE THE FUND BY ADVERTISING IT ON THE INTERNET WITH OTHER INFORMATION TO HELP INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FUND.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 48-52-650 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 89 of 1999, is further amended to read:

"Section 48-52-650. (A) The State Energy Office shall establish a mechanism for a revolving loan fund for state agencies and political subdivisions of the State to use for energy conservation measures. Repayment may be from the savings in the entity's utility budget.

(B) The State Energy Office shall publicize this loan program on the Internet including, but not limited to, information describing the fund, setting out criteria for the loans, who may qualify for the loans, and how to apply for them."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
