A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-90, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MINUTES OF MEETINGS OF PUBLIC BODIES, SO AS TO REQUIRE THE PUBLIC BODY TO HAVE ITS PROCEEDINGS RECORDED AND TRANSCRIBED VERBATIM IF THE PUBLIC BODY MEETS LESS FREQUENTLY THAN ONCE A QUARTER.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 30-4-90 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 13 of 2001, is further amended by adding:

"(D) If a public body meets less frequently than once a quarter, its proceedings must be recorded and transcribed verbatim. No summary minutes may be prepared or used."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
