A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 57-1-150 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL SUBMIT ITS PROPOSED TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM OR ITS PROPOSED INTERIM CHANGES TO A TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM TO CERTAIN OFFICERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 57-1-150. At least thirty days before it approves a Transportation Improvement Program, or approves interim changes to a Transportation Improvement Program, the Department of Transportation shall submit its proposed Transportation Improvement Program or its proposed interim changes to a Transportation Improvement Program to the:

(1) Lieutenant Governor;

(2) Speaker of the House of Representatives;

(3) Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee; and

(4) Chairman of the House Education and Public Works Committee."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
