TO AMEND CHAPTER 3, TITLE 53, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO SPECIAL DAYS, SO AS TO DESIGNATE SEPTEMBER 11 OF EACH YEAR AS "911 HEROES DAY".
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 3, Title 53 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 53-3-160. September 11 of each year is designated as '911 Heroes Day', a day of recognition to express the gratitude of the citizens of South Carolina for all the sacrifices made by public safety personnel in the performance of their duties. The Governor must issue appropriate proclamations to commemorate '911 Heroes Day' and all local communities are requested to appropriately honor public safety personnel on that day."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
