AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-440, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO RENAME CERTAIN PRECINCTS AND TO REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH LINES OF PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Voting precincts renamed

SECTION 1. Section 7-7-440 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 88 of 2001, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-440. (A) In Orangeburg County there are the following voting precincts:

(B) The precinct lines defining the precincts in subsection (A) are as shown on official maps on file with the Office of Research and Statistical Services of the Budget and Control Board and as shown on certified copies provided to the State Election Commission and the Orangeburg County Board of Voter Registration by the office and designated as P-75-02.

(C) The polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be determined by the Orangeburg County Election Commission subject to the approval of a majority of the Orangeburg County Legislative Delegation."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 8th day of May, 2002.

Became law without the signature of the Governor -- 5/15/02.
