TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE HAMMOND SCHOOL VARSITY CHEERLEADING TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2000-2001 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Hammond School Varsity Cheerleaders competed in and won the South Carolina Independent School Association State Championship at the end of 2000; and
Whereas, the Hammond School Varsity Cheerleaders placed third in the national finals in Atlanta the weekend of January 26-28, 2001; and
Whereas, the State Championship Cheerleading Team members are Celeste Caskey, twelfth grade; Lauren Ford, twelfth grade; Darby Mann, eleventh grade; Emily Mason, eleventh grade; Kristin Enyon, eleventh grade; Caroline Taylor, eleventh grade; Meredith Frazier, eleventh grade; Lauren Price, eleventh grade; Jordan Scott, eleventh grade; Amanda Cook, tenth grade; Katie King, tenth grade; Nancy Reynolds, tenth grade; Kelly Johnson, ninth grade; Amber Moore, ninth grade; Sims Witherspoon, ninth grade; Sarah Krantz, ninth grade; and Ellen Lightsey, ninth grade. These young ladies are led and advised by Danielle Teal; and
Whereas, the cheerleaders have arduous practices during the week and provide support and encouragement for the athletes before, during, and after the games; and
Whereas, these cheerleaders not only have spirit, but excel academically with an average three point four grade point average and outstanding PSAT and SAT scores. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Hammond School Varsity Cheerleading Team for winning the 2000-2001 South Carolina Independent School Association State Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Hammond School Varsity Cheerleading Team.
