AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-220, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DILLON COUNTY VOTING PRECINCTS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THE DILLON COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION MUST ESTABLISH THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE PRECINCTS WITH THE APPROVAL OF A MAJORITY OF THE SENATORS AND A MAJORITY OF THE REPRESENTATIVES REPRESENTING DILLON COUNTY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Election commission to establish polling places with approval of delegation
SECTION 1. Section 7-7-220 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 7-7-220. (A) In Dillon County there are the following voting precincts: Bermuda; Carolina; East Dillon; South Dillon; West Dillon; Floydale; Fork; Gaddy's Mill; Hamer; Kemper; Lake View; Latta; Little Rock; Manning; Minturn; Mt. Calvary; New Holly; Oak Grove; Oakland; and Pleasant Hill.
(B) The precinct lines defining these precincts are as shown on maps filed with the Clerk of Court of the county and also on file with the State Election Commission as provided and maintained by the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board.
(C) Polling places for the precincts provided in this section must be determined by the Dillon County Election Commission with the approval of a majority of the Senators and a majority of the members of the House of Representatives representing Dillon County."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
