TO EXPRESS THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE CHRIST CHURCH SCHOOL SAT TEAM OF GREENVILLE WHICH POSTED THE HIGHEST SCORE OF EVERY COMPETING TEAM IN WINNING THE SAT REGIONAL II-A CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, it has come to the attention of the members of the General Assembly that the Christ Church School SAT Team, for the second consecutive year, has won the state championship for Region II-A; and

Whereas, en route to their championship, this brilliant team posted the highest score of every competing team in all categories from Class A through Class AAAA; and

Whereas, this gifted team, lead by Shawn Oakley and Tom Price, is composed of Katherine Chisholm, David Ellison, Anna Lineback, Michael Murphy, Drew Perraut, Kevin Roe, Bruno Sugai, Thea van der Zalm, and Barrett Yoder; and

Whereas, Senior Shawn Oakley was the high scorer of all participants in the Region II-A competition, and Junior Tom Price was high scorer in the Upper State and State Championship Region II contests; and

Whereas, the strong academic commitment Christ Church Episcopal School has made toward SAT Team Competition sponsored by the South Carolina High School League and the South Carolina Department of Education is extremely important in raising the awareness of competing schools that standardized scores and critical thinking skills can be improved with focused study in a strong curriculum design; and

Whereas, Coach Jacquelyn Suber should be commended and recognized as being the guiding light for these bright stars which undoubtedly make a great significant contribution to their school and community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina congratulate the Christ Church School SAT Team of Greenville which posted the highest score of every competing team in winning the SAT Region II-A Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Headmaster Leland H. Cox, Jr., and Upper School Director William C. Sparrgrove.
