CONGRATULATING THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL BOYS' TENNIS TEAM AND HEAD COACH, BUTCH GRANADA, ON WINNING ITS THIRD CONSECUTIVE REGION II A-AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys' Tennis Team captured its third consecutive Region II A-AA State Championship Title by defeating Bishop England on May 5, 2001; and
Whereas, this championship title is the fourteenth in the school's history; and
Whereas, the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys' Tennis Team for 2001 included: Moutray McLaren; Charlie Yeargin; Grey Yeargin; State Singles Champion and Team Captain, David Ellison; William Timmons; Graham Moseley; Daniel Knause; Jonathan Fulton; and Joe Ellison; and
Whereas, Head Coach, Butch Granada, in addition to leading the team to its third consecutive state title this season, has led the team to a thirteenth place finish at the National All-American High School Tennis Tournament in Newport Beach, California, third place finish at the Rotary Club Tournament in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and first place finish at the Belton Tournament in Belton, South Carolina; and
Whereas, the countless hours of practice, hard work, and sacrifices reflect the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys' Tennis Team's determination to be the best they can be; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives would like to publicly recognize and congratulate each player, coach, and school official upon the completion of a memorable season. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys' Tennis Team and Head Coach, Butch Granada, on capturing its third consecutive Region II A-AA State Championship Title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Butch Granada on behalf of the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys' Tennis Team.
