A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND HONOR THE MEMBERS AND COACHES OF THE RICHLAND NORTHEAST HIGH SCHOOL "CAVALIERS" BASEBALL TEAM ON THE OCCASION OF CAPTURING THE 2001 CLASS AAAA STATE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are proud to have an opportunity to recognize the Richland Northeast High School "Cavaliers" Baseball Team on their winning this significant and prestigious championship; and

Whereas, the Cavaliers finished the season with twenty-seven wins against only eight losses; and

Whereas, last year the Cavaliers placed second in the Palmetto State, this year's team was able to reach down deep and come back from a large deficit to take the lead in the championship game which they not only held but extended to the final margin of victory of nine runs, sixteen to seven; and

Whereas, this impressive level of competition could not have been accomplished without the leadership and excellent coaching abilities of Head Coach Barry Mizzell and his assistant coaches; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are pleased to pause in their deliberations and recognize the Richland Northeast High School "Cavaliers" Baseball Team, coaches, and other school officials for an outstanding season. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the South Carolina House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and honor members of the Richland Northeast High School "Cavaliers" Baseball Team on the occasion of capturing the 2001 Class AAAA State Baseball Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Barry Mizzell.
