A HOUSE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST WISHES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO GLORIA ROWE DEMPSEY OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER SEVENTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY ON JULY 31, 2001, AND WISHING HER A JOYOUS CELEBRATION AND MANY RETURNS OF THE DAY.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives note that Gloria Rowe Dempsey of Lexington County will celebrate her seventy-fifth birthday on July 31, 2001; and

Whereas, with her late husband of fifty-one years, Carl Reid Dempsey, she has raised three children and is a proud grandmother of two; and

Whereas, she enjoys gardening and travel, and volunteers her time and talents to St. Andrews Baptist Church; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the House of Representative to pause in their deliberations so that they may note this milestone in the life of so distinguished a daughter of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representative, by this resolution, express their congratulations and best wishes to Gloria Rowe Dempsey of Lexington County on the occasion of her seventy-fifth birthday on July 31, 2001, and wish her a joyous celebration and many returns of the day.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Gloria Rowe Dempsey.
