A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE, HONOR, AND WELCOME THE MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY ORDER OF THE WORLD WARS TO COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA, FOR THEIR EIGHTY-FIRST ANNUAL NATIONAL CONVENTION BEGINNING ON JULY 24, 2001 AND ENDING ON JULY 29, 2001.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina are pleased to learn of the Military Order of the World Wars National Convention being held in our Capitol City of Columbia. We are honored that they have chosen to spend this important occasion in the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, the Military Order of the World Wars National Convention will bring many individuals to our State from around the country. During the convention tours will be conducted of the State Capitol, Columbia Art Museum, Columbia's historic homes, the Governor's Mansion, Fort Jackson, the Lake Murray area, Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and the State Museum for the members' enjoyment; and

Whereas, the Military Order of the World Wars is a service organization guided by the Preamble of the Order. The Order stresses one to perform service to our country and to assist in any manner that benefits our country's military well-being; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina are pleased to welcome the members of the Military Order of the World Wars during their stay in our State Capitol for their Eighty-First Annual National Convention and to recognize and honor the Order for all the positive work the organization does for the good of the military. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize, honor, and welcome the members of the Military Order of the World Wars to Columbia, South Carolina, for their Eighty-First Annual National Convention beginning on July 24, 2001 and ending on July 29, 2001.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Military Order of the World Wars.
