TO RECOGNIZE THE STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF OF JONESVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN UNION COUNTY FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN RED RIBBON WEEK ACTIVITIES.
Whereas, Red Ribbon Week is an annual celebration of young people committing themselves to living drug-free lives which began in 1988; and
Whereas, this year's celebration will occur during the week of October 22 through October 26, 2001; and
Whereas, the students, faculty, and staff of Jonesville Elementary School in Union County have committed themselves to making this year's event successful by decorating the school with red ribbons, conducting an art contest and writing contest that emphasize the week's theme, watching a drug-free cartoon, inviting speakers to address the students, facility, and staff regarding the week's theme, and participating in a parade; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives would like to pause in their deliberations to wish the students, faculty, and staff of Jonesville Elementary School much success during Red Ribbon Week. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize the students, faculty, and staff of Jonesville Elementary School in Union County for their participation in Red Ribbon Week activities.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jonesville Elementary School.
