TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-1-142 SO AS TO WAIVE DRIVERS LICENSE FEES FOR SOUTH CAROLINA VETERANS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 56-1-142. The driver's license fee provided for in Section 56-1-140 and the renewal fee provided for in Section 56-1-210 are waived for a South Carolina resident who is a veteran upon presentation of the veteran's DD214 form issued by the Department of Defense upon release from active duty or other documentation issued by the Department of Defense or the Office of Veteran's Affairs demonstrating a minimum of one hundred and eighty days of honorable service."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
