A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-7-11 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A TWO DOLLAR FEE MUST BE ASSESSED AGAINST A PERSON CHARGED WITH A TRAFFIC OFFENSE, AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE COMPTROLLER GENERAL MUST PLACE THIS FEE INTO A SPECIAL ACCOUNT AND DISTRIBUTE IT TO SOUTH CAROLINA CRIME STOPPERS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

    "Section 56-7-11.    A two dollar fee must be assessed against a person charged with a traffic offense. The Comptroller General must place this fee into a special account and distribute it to South Carolina Crime Stoppers."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
