A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING IRMO HIGH SCHOOL OF LEXINGTON COUNTY ON WINNING THE 2001 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN GIRLS TENNIS.

Whereas, Irmo High School of Lexington County won the 2001 Class AAAA State Championship in girls tennis; and

Whereas, the 2001 Lady Yellow Jackets tennis team was comprised of the following players: Victoria Moody, who was All-State, All-Region, All-Area, MVP, and class AAAA, Region 3 Player-of-the-Year; Kayce Porter, who was All-Region and All-Area; Tracy Ross, who was All-Region and undefeated during the season; Stephanie Givens; Haley Baird; Marie Cross; Casey Bookout; Courtney Sowell; Betsy Dobbins; Lauren Huebner; Beth Stephens; Jenny Waller; Ashley Kerr; Megan Eichenbrot; Murray Meetze; and Jessie Waller; and

Whereas, Bill Porter was the team's head coach, Johnny Hartley was the assistant coach, and Josh Smith was the team manager; and

Whereas, the Lady Yellow Jackets had a perfect 18-0 season in 2001, won the Class AAAA, Region 3 title, and were the Class AAAA Upper-State champs, as well as winning the overall state crown; and

Whereas, the team's talent, hard work, expertise, and unity paid-off in a truly big way in 2001, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to accord the players, coaches, and staff this special recognition; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly applaud the members of the Irmo High School girls tennis team for accomplishing their mission and winning the 2001 Class AAAA State Championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, heartily congratulates Irmo High School of Lexington County on winning the 2001 Class AAAA State Championship in girls tennis.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the team and coaches.
