A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE KEITH MCALISTER, PRINCIPAL OF LEWISVILLE HIGH SCHOOL IN CHESTER COUNTY, FOR HIS BEING NAMED 1A PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA ATHLETIC ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION, AND TO WISH HIM SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Keith McAlister, Principal of Lewisville High School, was named 1A Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the Spring Conference for Athletics in Charleston; and

Whereas, Mr. McAlister was nominated by the Lewisville High School Athletic Director Floyd Drum for his enthusiastic and dedicated support of high school athletics; and

Whereas, Keith McAlister has been the principal of Lewisville High School since 1998, and as an athlete, parent of athletes, and former coach, he cares deeply about high school athletics and understands what it means to the students; and

Whereas, he has been known to travel the State to cheer on several teams during the same weekend; and

Whereas, Mr. McAlister is able to provide an administrator's point of view, as well as share expertise and knowledge as an executive board member of the South Carolina High School League; and

Whereas, this refreshingly unique principal believes it is important that the students know he cares about them, and "he supports all students in their academic and athletic endeavors"; and

Whereas, Mr. McAlister's philosophy of caring extends beyond athletics to other activities such as band and chorus; and

Whereas, it is appropriate that the members of the General Assembly pause in their deliberations to honor the dedication of so distinguished a South Carolinian as Keith McAlister of Lewisville High School. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Keith McAlister, Principal of Lewisville High School in Chester County, for his being named 1A Principal of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Administrators Association and wish him success and happiness in his future endeavors.
