A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS BEST WISHES TO MRS. MILDRED LAMBERT OF AIKEN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, ON THE OCCASION OF HER NINETIETH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HER MANY MORE YEARS OF HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.

Whereas, Mrs. Mildred Lambert of Aiken County, South Carolina, will celebrate her ninetieth birthday on May 8, 2002, surrounded by her family, friends, and many others from her community who wish to help Mrs. Lambert mark this very special occasion; and

Whereas, Mrs. Lambert was born on May 8, 1912, in Burnettown-Langley, South Carolina, and she has resided in that area throughout her life, having seen first hand so many of the remarkable changes that have taken place both in her community and in the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, Mildred Lambert remains a faithful and active member of Langley First Baptist Church, where she is one of the most beloved and respected members of the congregation; and

Whereas, Mrs. Lambert maintains her independence to this day, living in her own home and driving her own automobile; and

Whereas, the wisdom and life experiences that one accumulates over the course of many years can be passed on for the benefit of others, and few can say they have accumulated more than Mrs. Mildred Lambert who has been witness to great economic depression, tragic world war, man's exploration of the heavens, and incredible advances in science and medicine; and

Whereas, all birthdays are special events, but for one such as this, it is fitting that the members of the South Carolina General Assembly pause to celebrate this wonderful milestone reached by Mrs. Mildred Lambert on May 8, 2002. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express best wishes to Mrs. Mildred Lambert of Aiken County, South Carolina, on the occasion of her ninetieth birthday and wish her many more years of health and happiness.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Mildred Lambert.
