A BILL

TO AMEND ARTICLE 3, CHAPTER 3, TITLE 56, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND LICENSING, SO AS TO PROVIDE A SIX YEAR MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION PERIOD WITH THE REGISTRATION FEE FOR THIS SIX YEAR REGISTRATION PAID BIENNIALLY; AND TO AMEND ARTICLE 21, CHAPTER 37 OF TITLE 12, RELATING TO THE PAYMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES ON MOTOR VEHICLES INCIDENT TO VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND LICENSING, SO AS TO CONFORM THE METHOD OF PAYING AND COLLECTING THE ANNUAL PROPERTY TAX ON MOTOR VEHICLES TO THE REVISED REGISTRATION PERIOD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 3, Chapter 3, Title 56 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

SECTION    2.    Article 21, Chapter 37, Title 12 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

SECTION    3.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
