A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE ROBERT R. RANDLE, JR., OF COLUMBIA FOR HIS LIFE LONG DEDICATION TO GREENVIEW PARK AND HIS SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO THE CITIZENS OF COLUMBIA AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Robert R. Randle, Jr., began working at Greenview Park as a summer camp director in 1970 when he was in the ninth grade and continued working at Greenview Park for thirty-two years. He was the Director of Summer Camp from 1971 until 1994; and

Whereas, Mr. Randle was born in Brukeville, Virginia, on October 12, 1954, to Martha J. and Robert Randle, Sr.; and

Whereas, his family moved to Columbia in 1968, and Robert Randle graduated from W. J. Keenan High School and Southwestern Community College and also attended Florida State University; and

Whereas, programs at Greenview Park include arts and crafts classes, sports tournaments, cooking classes, group trips, and many other interesting activities; and

Whereas, Mr. Randle directed basketball and tennis leagues and tournaments for many years and started a football league for children in 1998; and

Whereas, Mr. Randle started T.O.P.P.S. Sports in South Carolina in 1996, which stands for Training of Positive People Sports and is a non-profit organization that helps children in college from division one to junior college; and

Whereas, Robert R. Randle, Jr., and Greenview Park have received many awards from the City of Columbia Recreation Division including the Employee of the Year, Park Leader of the Year, Best Theme for the Christmas Parade, and Best Hand Crafted Awards; and

Whereas, Mr. Randle considers his biggest accomplishment to be Corey Whiting, a child he took into his home and his heart when Corey was fourteen. Since Corey has been with Mr. Randle, his grades have improved to the A-B Honor Roll, he is a member of the National Honor Society and a Scholar Athlete, and he has been a wonderful volunteer at Greenview Park; and

Whereas, to Mr. Randle's and Corey's great credit, Corey will attend Collins College School of Design and Technology in Tempe, Arizona; and

Whereas, the General Assembly respectfully recognizes Robert R. Randle, Jr., for his devotion to Greenview Park, Columbia, and to South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate Robert R. Randle, Jr., of Columbia for his life long dedication to Greenview Park and his service and commitment to the citizens of Columbia and the State of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Robert R. Randle, Jr., of Columbia.
