A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE JEFFERSON DAVIS ACADEMY "LADY RAIDERS" GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH ROBYNE JOYNER ON WINNING THE 2002 SCISA CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND PROUDLY RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS THE "LADY RAIDERS" FOURTH STRAIGHT STATE TITLE IN A ROW.

Whereas, the Jefferson Davis Academy "Lady Raiders" Girls Basketball Team of Barnwell County was in a state of euphoria as they captured their fourth straight SCISA Class A State Championship, an amazing accomplishment; and

Whereas, the "Lady Raiders" defeated Laurens Academy 49-34 at the Sumter Exhibition Center, in a contest that was never in question as they jumped out to a 10-2 lead and never looked back; and

Whereas, the "Lady Raiders" finished this season with a stellar 28-4 record; and

Whereas, this impressive level of competition could not have been accomplished without the leadership and excellent coaching abilities of Head Coach Robyne Joyner; and

Whereas, this outstanding team was comprised of the following players: Emily Dyches, Kacey Harleson, Kelley Jeffcoat, Cassie Loadholt, Jessica Williams, Abbie Williams, Meg Owens, Victoria Williams, and Candace Wilson; and

Whereas, the success of the 2002 "Lady Raiders" Girls Basketball Team has brought great pride and recognition to Jefferson Davis Academy, its loyal and enthusiastic students, administration, and supporters; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to pause in our deliberations so that we might recognize the extraordinary achievements of the Jefferson Davis Academy "Lady Raiders" Basketball Team and Head Coach Robyne Joyner. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their congratulations to the Jefferson Davis Academy "Lady Raiders" Girls Basketball Team and Head Coach Robyne Joyner on winning the 2002 SCISA Class A State Championship and proudly recognize that this is the "Lady Raiders" fourth straight state title in a row

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Robyne Joyner
