COMMENDING AND THANKING DR. AL EADS, JR., FOR HIS MANY OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION IN SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, Dr. Al Eads, Jr., is a graduate of The Citadel, holds a master's degree from Duke University, and has a doctorate from the University of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Dr. Eads's professional accomplishments include the following: coach and teacher at James Island High School; Principal of Stiles Point Elementary School in Charleston; Principal of St. John's High School in Darlington; Principal of Gaffney High School; consultant with the South Carolina Department of Education; and Superintendent of Hampton County School District 2; and
Whereas, Dr. Eads has over thirty-five years of experience in public education and was a "South Carolina School Superintendent of the Year"; and
Whereas, he currently serves as: President of the National Rural Education Association; Legislative Consultant for the South Carolina Rural Educators' Association; Legislative Consultant for the South Carolina PTA Association; and Legislative Consultant for the South Carolina Association of School Administrators; and
Whereas, Dr. Eads has brought a wealth of talent and expertise to education in South Carolina, and the Palmetto State has been indeed fortunate to have the benefit of his leadership, insight, and stellar background. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends and thanks Dr. Al Eads, Jr., for his many outstanding contribution to education in South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Al Eads, Jr.
