TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF DR. BARBARA FEINN WISSIG, FORMER CHIEF STATE ECONOMIST OF THE BOARD OF ECONOMIC ADVISORS, UPON HER DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the Senate are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Barbara Feinn Wissig on Monday May 7, 2001, after an extended illness; and
Whereas, Dr. Wissig was a widely known and respected economist who previously served as Chief State Economist of the Board of Economic Advisors before her retirement; and
Whereas, she was a person of exceptional ability who made many contributions to and had a great impact on this state's strong fiscal condition during her tenure with the board; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to her husband, Steve, and to the other members of her family and friends upon her death. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate express their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Dr. Barbara Feinn Wissig, former Chief State Economists of the Board of Economic Advisors, upon her death.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Steve Wissig, 6 Locksley Avenue, 7-G, San Francisco, California 94122.
