To whom was referred a Bill (S. 823) to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section 45-2-90 so as to require that an innkeeper conspicuously post telephone, e-mail, etc., respectfully

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 45-2-90 SO AS TO REQUIRE THAT AN INNKEEPER CONSPICUOUSLY POST TELEPHONE, E-MAIL, ON-LINE, AND FAX RATES CHARGED IN ITS LODGING ESTABLISHMENT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 2 of Title 45 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 45-2-90. The innkeeper of a lodging establishment must post in a conspicuous place in its office and next to the telephone in each room of its lodging establishment a notice of the rates it charges for local, long-distance, toll-free, and room-to-room telephone calls, electronic mail messages, internet on-line access, and facsimile transmissions."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
