A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO REDUCE FROM EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS TO EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTEEN DOLLARS THE ANNUAL FEE FOR THE AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURED STANDARD LICENSE PLATE FOR VEHICLES IN ITS EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PROGRAM AND FOR THE TESTING, DISTRIBUTION, EVALUATION, AND PROMOTION OF ITS VEHICLES, TO LIMIT THE REDUCED FEE TO APPLICATIONS FILED IN 2002, AND TO PROPORTIONATELY REDUCE THE ALLOCATIONS OF THIS FEE REVENUE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Notwithstanding the annual fee prescribed pursuant to Section 56-3-2332 of the 1976 Code for the standard license plate issued to an automobile manufacturer for vehicles used in a benefit program for the manufacturer's employees or for testing, distribution, evaluation, and promotion, the registration fee for applications filed in 2002 is reduced from eight hundred eighty dollars to eight hundred seventeen dollars. In accounting for the revenue of this reduced fee, the twenty dollars and fifty cents credited to the general fund of the State is reduced to nineteen dollars and the amount required to be remitted to a local government is reduced from eight hundred fifty-nine dollars and fifty cents to seven hundred ninety-eight dollars.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
